Dietitians Head to Brightmarten for Their Monthly Dinner Meet Up

Every month, a crew of us dietitians find a Denver restaurant to dine at for "Dinnertitians". Tonight we're headed to Brightmarten in Wash Park! Check out some of my favorite selections from their menu.




Surprise, I love their salads!

Brightmarten has 5 nutrient-dense and crave-worthy salads to choose from. They'll serve half portions or entree size, and yes you can add protein. For example, the first time I went I ordered the Spring Salad and added a portion of salmon. It was a hard choice between the Spring Salad and 'The Bright' but I was drawn to that sweet fruit + walnut+ bitter greens combo. It was so good I tried to recreate the very same salad at home.

Any meal with vegetables is going to please a dietitian, haha! But if you're not trying to go out to eat for a salad you have plenty of other options. Consider one of the 8 entrees that resembles The Plate Method and includes some type of protein, starch and veggie. The Beer Chicken, which is only served on Tuesdays, is so damn good it sells out nearly every time by the 7 o'clock hour.

Beer Smoked Chicken, A Crunchy Cole Slaw and Potato Salad

Every item is made in house, even their hot sauce which I wish I had a picture of because I put that on everything. Another crowd-pleaser is the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Honestly, anytime I have guests come to visit, they have to try this chicken sandwich. It's salty, sweet, crunchy all at the same time and it includes all the food groups, yes even vegetables (spinach and onions). Need it gluten free? They can do that! You can get it with a side of fries or side salad. You'll have to go there to try it!


Brunch at Brightmarten is a Must-Do in Denver

When you're looking for a brunch spot that's serves a damn good breakfast and bottomless mimosas, I'll choose Brightmarten every time. If you have a tough time choosing mimosa flavors, go with these three!

  • Strawberry

  • Cherry

  • Grapefruit

My order is the Basic Breakfast: two eggs cooked any style, breakfast sausage (which I replace with an order of veggies), sliced tomatoes and English muffin. Dee-lish!
